The Thorens

Clarence Thoren who worked as a blacksmith came from Norway in 1905. Once here he married Millie Anderson. They had Floyd and Edwin Thoren.


Floyd lived on his family's property up a dirt road that adjoins Werner road called Thoren road until 1976 when the house burned down. The family bought the home from the Holtines.  Vendla and Elvina Holtines are buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery (1886-1902).

  • Hilma Asp Austin (1892-1972)

  • Tille (1917)

  • Joshua (1860-1927)

  • Arthur  (1906-1918)

  • Himla’s first husband Gust Lund (1891-1980)
